South Alberta
The Bike for Bibles ride in South Alberta was a great success!
First-time Bike for Bibles rider - Bill Armstrong and his wife Vicky have become avid supporters of Bike for Bibles. After approaching their church for sponsorship, they were pleasantly surprised when the church decided to host a barbeque in support of the 2009 Bike for Bibles initiative - bringing the Word to the 2010 Olympics. At the June 26-28 ride, Bill was thrilled to present District Director, Reg Graves, with a cheque in the amount of $6,000 from, Youngstown Gospel Chapel in Youngstown, Alberta. Bill's wife Vicky didn't ride but she went along as the cook working with this year's roadie, South Alberta's board member, Brian Baxter. Brian was there to help feed and encourage the riders to keep going - achieving fun, fitness, and fellowship with a great purpose!
Bill Armstrong had this to say about Bike for Bibles, "The South Alberta Bike for Bibles Foothills ride, was amazing and the tone of the ride that was set by the CBS District Director, Reg Graves, was one of acceptance, grace, encouragement, and kindness. We had great fellowship and purposefulness as we rode in order to provide God's Word for people visiting Canada at the Olympics. My wife and I can't wait for the next Bike for Bibles opportunity!"
